The trial of a 36-year-old Beloit man, accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in a jealous rage, got underway Tuesday in Rock County court.
Beloit Police Officer Richard Lefeber was the first officer on the scene the night of the murder in August of 2008. He testified that the suspect, Donyil Anderson, came at him with a knife in his hand.
Lefeber says he had to use a Taser the suspect three times before Andreson stopped struggling and was handcuffed by officers.
As the victim, 31-year-old Stacey Hosey, sat on the ground bleeding to death, neighbor Mary Hirsch comforted her.
Anderson is on trial for the murder of Hosey and the attempted murder of her new boyfriend, 25-year-old Branden Beavers-Jackson, who was also stabbed. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges.
