Despite a price drop at the pump for regular gasoline, many truckers are still struggling with high prices for diesel fuel.

Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association President Tom Howells says diesel fuel is at an average of about $3.50 a gallon. He says a larger worldwide demand for diesel is likely to blame. The fuel is becoming more widely used in other countries, compared to the gasoline used by many U.S. motorists.

Despite the high prices, Howells says diesel has been dropping in recent weeks. It just hasn't hit the same level as regular gasoline.
