There was an unplanned landing at Wausau’s downtown airport Monday.
A single-engine plane landed safely at Wausau Downtown Airport yesterday after making an emergency landing. According to airport officials, the pilot reported smoke coming from his cockpit to air traffic control in Minneapolis and made a precautionary landing for safety.
Wausau firefighters responded to the scene just before 4:30pm. The plane was carrying three passengers. No one was injured.
An airplane mechanic at Wausau Airport was inspecting the aircraft for possible problems.
