The 2nd round of the 2011 US Open began early Friday morning at the Congressional in Maryland.  Everyone is chasing Rory McIlroy who fired a 6-under 65 in the opening round.  That was good enough for a 3-shot lead over Y.E Yang and Master’s Champion Charl Schwartzle.

It was not a good for Wisconsin golfers in round 1.  Steve Stricker shot a 75 to finished the day 4-over and 10 shots off the pace.  Mark Wilson ended 7-over with a 78.  Both golfers are on the course in the morning session.

A couple other top Americans failed to hit their stride on day 1.  Phil Mickleson ended at 3-under par with Dustin Johnson at 4-under.
