The interview process wraps up today to fill the coaching vacancy at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Green Bay assistant coach Brian Wardle and St. Norbert College head coach Gary Grzesk (pictured) will be the last of five candidates to discuss the open coaching position with Green Bay athletic director Ken Bothof today. Green Bay’s coaching position opened up when Tod Kowalczyk left after eight seasons to take the head job at Toledo.
Wisconsin associate head coach Greg Gard, St. Louis associate head coach Porter Moser and Missouri State assistant coach Jon Harris are the other finalists that have already had second interviews with Bothof.
Two of Green Bay’s incoming recruits, Daniel Turner of McCordsville, Indiana, and Sussex Hamilton’s Kam Cerroni have indicated that they would stick with UWGB if Wardle is hired. If not, they’ll consider asking for their releases.
Green Bay is expecting to make a decision quickly and announce their next head coach tomorrow (Thursday).
