The NCAA has sanctioned UW-La Crosse for financial aid violations.
The NCAA says the case involves violations of long-standing financial aid rules for Division III schools, which are not allowed to award athletic scholarships.
An infractions committee found that from the 207-08 school year through this current school year, UW-La Crosse improperly considered athletics leadership, participation or performance when awarding scholarships.
The penalties include a public reprimand and censure, as well as two years of probation. But there’s no ban on post-season play.
