The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee will play host to the Democratic candidates in the race for president next month.
The campus announced Monday that the Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts will be the site for the Democratic National Committee’s presidential debate on February 11. It will be produced by the PBS Newshour and be broadcast from the Helen Bader Concert Hall.
In a statement, UWM Chancellor Mark Mone said “UW-Milwaukee has a long history of promoting civil discourse on important issues facing our society, and we are proud to host the debate on our campus.”
This is the second time Milwaukee will provide a national stage for presidential hopefuls during this election cycle. The Republican National Committee held its debate at the Milwaukee Theater in November of last year.
