Despite various published reports, the University of Wisconsin is denying any involvement in conversations about moving the UNLV football game in 2007 to Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, UW officials had reportedly made two offers to move the game, set for Sept. 8 in Las Vegas, to Green Bay.  The first offer was said to be worth $1-million and the second $1.3-million.

A spokesperson from the University of Wisconsin said, "At no time has the UW Athletic Department had conversations with UNLV officials regarding moving our 2007 game to Lambeau Field.  It is unfortunate that published reports have suggested otherwise.  We have confirmed that UNLV officials were approached by a third party about moving our game, but that contact was done without our knowledge and without our involvement in any offer made to UNLV by that third party.

"We apologize for any inconvenience these erroneous published reports may have caused Badger fans who have already made their plans to travel to Las Vegas for our game.  We can assure you that we will be playing that game in Las Vegas as scheduled."

Packers president and chief operating officer of the Green Bay Packers told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel earlier that he was intrigued by the ieda of seeing UW play a football game in Lambeau Field.
