Track and Field Mick Byrne.  On Monday, Wisconsin Athletics Director Barry Alvarez announced a restructuring of the coaching staff that eliminates the position of head women’s cross country and track and field coach, previously held by Jim Stintzi.

In Stintzi’s 10 seasons as the women’s cross country and track and field coach, 13 athletes combined to win 2 Big Ten individual titles.

Under the direction of Byrne, the cross country and track and field staff will now consist of five assistant coaches.  Four of those positions are currently filled by Dave Astrauskas, Nate Davis, Kareem Jackson and Gavin Kennedy.  A national search for the final assistant coaching position will begin immediately.
