University of Wisconsin-Stout Police say they have made the biggest drug bust in their history. Working with the Menomonie Police Department and West Central Drug Task Force, UW-Stout officers searched an off-campus residence Wednesday. They found more than 6 pounds of marijuana, marijuana-based candy, other controlled substances and 5,200 dollars in cash. Joshua Schuster, a 21-year-old Stout sophomore from Ellsworth, was arrested and is being held at the Dunn County Jail. The Dean of Students office is reviewing his status with the university.
“UW-Stout makes every effort to ensure that our campus is a safe place for students, our employees and the public,” said Chancellor Bob Meyer. “Unfortunately, that includes our police taking these kinds of actions to address the sale of drugs. I commend our Police Department for being proactive in this area and hope it sends a strong message about our commitment to maintaining a safe campus environment.”
