A University of Wisconsin-Madison student who contracted bacterial meningitis has died. Neha Suri died Tuesday with family and friends at her side. The Universitiy is remembering the journalism and political science major as a writer for the Daily Cardinal newspaper who was active in the campus arts scene, worked at a campus recreational facility and interned at the state Capitol. Suri was a senior. She had been at UW Hospital since last week. UW health officials said they believe her case was an isolated one and were not concerned about an outbreak. Suri lived off-campus and those who had been close to her are being treated with antibiotics.
