Claudio Vargas struck out a career-high 11 hitters over six innings and Bill Hall drove in three runs to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 7-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at Miller Park.

Vargas got out of a big jam in the 4th, when the bases were loaded with nobody out.  The Brewers right hander struck out the side.

Bill Hall, despite committing his fourth error of the season in centerfield, drove in three runs, including a two-run homer in the first.  Hall also drove in a run in the sixth with a run scoring double.

The Brewers and Pirates close out their brief two-game series at Miller Park with a day game today.  Jeff Suppan pitches for Milwaukee in the finale.
