A candlelight vigil is held in Racine for a woman shot and killed last week by her live-in boyfriend, who then took his own life, leaving three young children in the care of relatives. Racine Women’s Resource Center Director Cheri Griffin said the death of Starkeesha Wilkins is another example of domestic violence.

Griffin said the gathering was also, “bringing call to a greater deed which is to work to end this for any woman.”

The murder-suicide on Racine’s west side occurred across the street from the elementary school where two of “Star” Wilkins’ children attended classes, and where police had to seek them out with the reality of their lives changing forever.
