Republican candidates say they want to cut the red tape of heavily burdening regulations on business and farming as a way to spur new innovation. US Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack says innovation is happening under Democratic policies including new opportunities in biofuels and alternative feedstocks which is reducing dependence on foreign oil.
When Wisconsin milk prices sunk, Vilsack says the administration was “very aggressive” in coming to farmers aid by increasing exportation, giving monetary assistance to producers and purchasing additional commodities in an effort to stabilize milk prices.
He adds net farm income is expected increase 24-percent this year.
