A call for VISTA volunteers in Wisconsin. VISTA is the domestic Peace Corps, founded in 1964 as part of the War on Poverty. Linda Sunde is state director for VISTA. She says most volunteers are young people, but not all. Sunde says VISTA volunteers won't find themselves handing out food at a food bank, but will help in other ways.
In Wisconsin, over half a million residents live below the poverty line. VISTA volunteers are asked to commit a year to service. They receive a variety of benefits and can receive money towards college tuition.
