In a rematch of the 2013 NCAA Championship, the 5th ranked Wisconsin women’s volleyball team fell to 3rd ranked Penn State in the Big Ten opener before a sold out crowd (6,012) at the UW-Field House.

Penn State downed the Badgers 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.  Wisconsin fell to 9-2 overall on the season, 0-1 in the Big Ten.  The Badgers failed to score a service ace for the first time this season.

“We have to improve whether this was a win or a loss.  We’re trying to win all of them, make no mistake,” Wisconsin head coach Kelly Sheffield added.  “We’re trying to win all of them but we’re also trying to get better.”

Wisconsin returns home for another Big Ten match-up on Sunday, taking on Ohio State at the UW-Field House (1pm).
