Governor Scott Walker is advising leaders in the Wisconsin Assembly to proceed with caution as they consider whether to expel former Majority Leader Bill Kramer.

The Waukesha Republican faces two charges of sexual assault for a 2011 incident with a political aide. “I think the concern that some have had, and that they’re trying to look at, is if they took action to expel him, that might actually require the victim to have to testify and could have an impact on the court case,” Walker said.

Kramer is also accused of sexually harassing two women during trip to Washington D-C earlier this year. Walker said Kramer should not be in office, but testimony in an expulsion hearing could impact the criminal case. He spoke with reporters Wednesday in Oshkosh.
