Governor Scott Walker will be able to add author to his resumé by the end of the year, after signing a deal with the Sentinel Imprint of Penguin Group to co-write a book titled “Unintimidated: A Governor’s Story and a Nation’s Challenge.”
The book will focus largely on Walker’s first two years in office, during a period that saw him take on public employee unions and overcome an attempt to recall him from office. It’s due out later this year and will be co-written by former President George W. Bush’s speechwriter, Marc Thiessen.
During a stop in Wausau Tuesday, Walker said he decided to write the book after people expressed an interest in what happened in Wisconsin during the massive protests at the Capitol. He said they wanted to know if there were any lessons that could be applied to other parts of the country.

Walker is believed to be a possible contender in the 2016 presidential race. However, he says the book deal is not an indication he plans to run for higher office. Walker says he’s worked hard over the last two years, twice, to serve as governor, and he has no plans to change that anytime soon. Still, Walker says he welcomes any speculation that might fuel sales when the book comes out later this year.
