Governor Scott Walker says he will not let a possible recall distract him from his goal of creating jobs in Wisconsin. Even though groups are gearing up start collecting signatures next month for a recall, Walker says his focus will not shift.
Speaking in Green Bay Thursday, Walker maintained that he’s “focused like a laser beam” on his goal to create 250,000 jobs in the state during his first term in office. He predicts that, even with the recall effort going on, most Wisconsinites will still be talking about creating jobs.
Work in the state Senate came to a halt this summer as recall elections approached against nine members. Walker says he will not let that happen with the rest of state government. He says most people are sick of recall elections and are not looking forward to the possibility of another one.
The governor’s chief of staff recently left his office to work on preparing a defense against a possible recall effort targeting Walker.
