Governor Scott Walker spoke in Washington DC Monday night at a national conference on private school vouchers and charter schools.

Walker says education is vital for the nation and says everyone fails when any kids “slip through the cracks.”

The Governor also says education reform is good for a state’s economy. He says businesses will want to relocate to that state because the firm’s employees can be assured their children will receive proper schooling.

Walker also touted Milwaukee’s long time Parental Choice Program.

“One of our biggest challenges in the city of Milwaukee is not just whether there are good schools or not…one of our most fundamental challenges is keeping our kids all the graduation,” he adds choice schools have a “fundamental” ability to make sure kids finish, compared to public counterparts.

The summit was put on by the American Federation for Children.
