Governor Scott Walker was touring Wisconsin on Thursday to promote the state’s robust tourism industry. At a stop in Chippewa Falls, Walker said investing in Wisconsin tourism has paid off with an 18 percent increase in tourism spending over the last 3 years.

Walker took the opportunity to announce some other economic news. “Chief Executive Magazine, which puts out its annual ranking of the best and worst states to do business in . . . back in 2010 they ranked us at 41. We’re now moved up faster than any other state in the country other than Louisiana. We’re now up to number 14 on that ranking.”

As far as the on again, off again John Doe investigation, the governor said he’s not talking about that, but is staying focused on the state’s economic and fiscal issues. “Under current law in Wisconsin, anyone who knows anything about that by law is prohibited from talking about it. Anyone who doesn’t know anything about it shouldn’t be talking about it.”
