With Assembly Republicans set to remove Representative Bill Kramer from his post as majority leader, Governor Scott Walker weighs in on the controversy surrounding the Waukesha lawmaker. “I definitely think that the Assembly is right in asking him to step down from his position as part of their leadership team,” Walker said Monday. “It’s something where I don’t have the details, other that what I read and heard about in the media.”
Kramer is accused of sexually inappropriate behavior towards women while at a GOP fundraiser in Washington over the weekend. He entered a treatment program after the allegations surfaced. “If it’s true, I don’t think there’s any place for someone in a position of public trust to be in office if they’ve done those things.” Walker said. Kramer was elected as majority leader last fall. Assembly Republicans will meet Tuesday to decide whether to remove Kramer from his leadership position.
