It was Grant County’s unlucky turn to get a deluge of rain this weekend. A resident near Potosi and his wife had to scramble Saturday morning to try and salvage items from their home. “Makes a mess out of everything. When you see all the damage, it takes time to get it all cleaned up and it’s a lot of money,” Larry Ames told WMTV. At one point the water got to chest level.

Last week, a lightning strike killed eight cows on a farm near Monroe in Green County. A few weeks back, 30 cows died from flooding in Sauk County.

Some good news though for water logged residents in Sun Prairie over the weekend. They got word that they no longer needed to cut back on water use, since levels at the waste water treatment plant went back to normal following last Thursday’s storms.
