Good news for workers, employers, and the state.

It's a win-win-win situation. That's what Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Secretary Roberta Gassman says about the website JobCenterOfWisconsin .com — connecting employers with job-seekers … and helping the state economy.

"So even right now if you went online today to JobCenterOfWisconsin .com you'd find approximately 13,000 jobs right here right in the state of Wisconsin where employers are looking for individuals to hire. So there are job openings in the state."

Gassman says the website, which was created in the fall, is getting a lot of positive feedback. She explains, it's a matter of matching up the right job with the right worker. Gassman says all employers who receive federal funds through the American Recovery Act are required to post information about available jobs to the site.

"Let's say a new road is being built, or a bridge, or work in happening in a nursing home …"

Anyone looking for a job can create a resume right online, and it's free. Gassman says in addition to partnering employers with potential employees, the site helps to track specifically how the federal recovery dollars are coming to the state and who gets hired as a result of that money.
