As reported yesterday by several media outlets, Brett Favre did not fly to Green Bay on Thursday.  He's still in Mississippi because NFL commissioner Roger Goodell still hasn't reinstated him.

Favre is reportedly mulling over an offer from the  Green Bay Packers that would pay the future Hall of Famer roughly $20-million over 10-years to stay away.  According to ESPN's Ed Werder, that may be something Favre may decide is best in the end.

Favre reportedly told Werder via text message on Thursday, "We know what they want and where I stand.  His solution, although awkward and unsettling for most, may be the best in the end."

Favre has to decide between the Packers offer, or continue to pursue a chance to play this season.  "My intentions have been to play, and with Green Bay," Favre told Werder.  "They say no, so I still want to play in this division for obvious reasons, which I made clear to management.  If they won't let me play in Green Bay, let me play against you.  That's where I am."

The Green Bay Press Gazette says Favre's agent "Bus" Cook and the Packers have had discussions this week with the New York Jets, but so far it's believed Favre doesn't want to play for the Jets.

It's unclear if Favre does eventually get reinstated by the commissioner, if they would then consider trading Favre within the NFC North division?  The Packers have reportedly had discussions internally about the possibility.
