A Wisconsin utility has set up a unique resource to track a customer's "carbon footprint." Steve Kraus, spokesman for Madison Gas and Electric, is confident www.Co2gether.org is unlike anything else in the country. He admits there are similar websites but this one allows MG & E customers to see their carbon dioxide output as it correlates with their home energy use.

Users can also add journal entries on steps they've taken in their homes to save energy and can track use of cars, buses or flights. The site also has a discussion forum for people to share ideas such as how to live greener.

The newly launched website is a partnership of MG and E, 1000 Friends of Wisconsin and UW Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment.
