UW-Whitewater is hosting one of the eight NCAA Division III baseball regionals around the country starting Wednesday. The Warhawks (38-5) is the #1 seed in the six-team, double-elimination regional.
The Warhawks are joined in the regional field by second seeded and defending national champion St. Thomas (33-7) of St. Paul, Minnesota.
St. Scholastica (38-6) is the third seed. UW-Stevens Point is seeded fourth after the Pointers (29-15) finished behind Whitewater in the WIAC Conference tournament last week.
Carthage College (28-16) is the 5-seed and Aurora (27-14) is the 6-seed.
Whitewater opens at 10am against Aurora; Carthage faces St. Thomas at 1pm; Stevens Point takes on St. Scholastica at 4pm Wednesday.
Ripon College, which won the Midwest Conference Tournament last weekend, was seeded third in the 6-team Central Regional in Moline, Illinois. Ripon opens against No. 4 Webster (33-9) on Wednesday night (7pm).
