The UW-Whitewater baseball team is one win away from winning its second NCAA Division 3 College World Series championship.  The school is also one baseball victory away from a historic three-sport championship sweep.

The University’s football and basketball teams won NCAA titles earlier this school year.  No school at any level, has ever had a clean sweep in football, basketball and baseball.

The Warhawks knocked off St. Thomas 10-4 in a winners bracket game on Sunday at Fox Cities Stadium and remain perfect (3-0) in the tournament.  Whitewater (43-7) now advances to the championship round and is set to play at 11am on Tuesday, against an opponent yet to be determined.

St. Thomas (39-8) suffered its first loss in the tournament and is scheduled to play at 3:30pm today against either Emory (36-12) or Southern Maine (37-14).  Those teams play an elimination game at noon today.

The Warhawks last won the college world series in 2005.
