Wisconsin senior guard Dakota Whyte poured in a career-high 31 points but it wasn’t nearly enough for the Badgers who fell to Illinois 76-56 in Big Ten women’s basketball action at the Kohl Center on Wednesday night.

The Illini shot 90% from the field in the second quarter, outscoring the Badgers 25-to-seven and jumping out to a 38-to-20 lead at halftime.

Whyte had 13 points in the first half for the Badgers.  The rest of her teammates were a combined one-of-nine from the field.  Whyte hit six-of-eight shots in the second half, including a pair of three-pointers.

The Badgers (7-18, 3-12 Big Ten) had no answer for Chatrice White, who had 28 points and 12 rebounds for the Illini (9-17, 2-13).
