The Republican Party of Wisconsin couldn't be happier with the "hockey mom's" performance at the Vice Presidential debate. RPW Chairman Reince Preibus says Americans saw a "plain spoken, straight shooter" who can go toe-to-toe with the veteran Senator Joe Biden. Meanwhile, Governor Jim Doyle says Biden was victorious and the overnight polls show the Senator "won decisively."

Doyle says Sarah Palin had a difficult time responding to Biden's assertions that the Republican ticket is more of George W Bush's policies. He called her performance a "desperate" attempt at distancing the McCain/Palin ticket from Bush's record. However, Preibus says John McCain is a maverick who has "stuck it" to Bush and his own party when the Arizona Senator felt the need.

Thursday's event was only the meeting between Biden and Palin. No other VP debates are planned.
