There'll be a new champion crowned in the WIAA Division 1 football playoffs.

Arrowhead, co-champions of the Classic eight Conference this fall, advanced to the State final game for the seventh time and for the first time since back-to-back runner-up finishes in 2002 and 2003.  The Warhawks will face Mequon Homestead in the title game.  Arrowhead won state titles in their first three appearances in 1993, 1994 and 1996.  They advanced to the title game by ousting Milwaukee Riverside in the semifinal game 24-20.

It is the second title game for Homestead and the first since the Highlanders were crowned champions in 1999.  They are the champions of the North Shore Conference.  Homestead defeated Stevens Point in Level 4 of the playoffs, 37-7.  The Highlanders have yielded only two touchdowns throughout the playoffs and give up an average of 6.3 points per game this season.

Racine Park defeated Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln 28-9 to win the division 1 title game in 2005.
