Mayville and Wrightstown are both in search of their second WIAA Football title when they lock up in Thursday night's (7pm) Division 4 title game at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison.

Mayville is making its first return to the championship game since 1994 when the Cardinals won the title after finishing runner-up in their first two appearances in 1991 and 1992.  They finished second in the Wisconsin Flyway Conference this fall.  The Cardinals defeated Evansville 7-0 in the semifinal to gain a shot at the State title game.  They have scored an average of 31 points a game throughout the season.

Wrightstown made its only other appearance in the title game in 1998 when the Tigers captured the Division 5 championship.  They defeated last year's runner-up West Salem 41-13 in the semifinal to advance to the title tilt.  The Tigers were the champion of the Olympian Conference.  They are averaging 33 points per game this season, including a 40-point average during the playoffs.

Ripon was crowned the Division 4 champion last season with a 21-16 victory over West Salem.
