Today is day two of the WIAA Girls State Basketball Tournament from the Kohl Center in Madison. On the floor today is the division one, two and three semifinals.
The division three semifinals open up the day as Brillion (26-1) takes on Cuba City (27-0) at 9:05. That game is followed by Osseo-Fairchild (26-1) and Oostburg (23-4) in the second D3 semifinal.
The afternoon session gets underway at 1:35 with Monroe (25-1) and Winneconne (24-3) in the first D2 semifinal match-up. Altoona (18-9) and New Berlin Eisenhower (24-2) will follow.
At 6:35 the Division One semifinals take the court with three-time defending state champion Milwaukee Vincent (24-2) facing Pius XI (24-3) followed by De Pere (25-1) and Wausau West (24-3). Yesterday in the quarterfinals, Vincent slid past Racine Case (19-6) 68-62 while Pius XI knocked off Verona (22-4) 58-41. De Pere advanced with a 50-29 win over Beaver Dam (24-2) and Wausau West eliminated Middleton (22-4) 53-48 in overtime.
Newman Catholic and Black Hawk were winners Thursday in the Division Four semi-finals. They will square off Saturday in the state title game at 12:05.
