Southern Wisconsin’s storm activity is set to die down this morning according to Meteorologist Ashley Sears with the National Weather Service in Sullivan. Winds will peak this afternoon at speeds of up 60-miles-an-hour. Tonight there will be a “lull” in the winds of around 35-miles-an-hour.

Tonight there is also chance of light snow mixed with rain in northwestern areas of the state.

NWS has tornado watches in southern counties and wind advisories to the north.

This morning Manitowoc had gusts of 37-miles-an-hour around five this morning, and Monroe had gusts up to 39-miles-an-hour.

Some are saying this will be the worst wind storm in the Badger State since November 1998 which resulted in four deaths.
