There's no known culprit for Wisconsin's wild pig plague, but there's hope for getting rid of the destructive animals.

A Crawford County judge last week dismissed charges against a Texas man accused of releasing 31 feral pigs in the countryside back in 2002. The judge ruled witnesses against Robert "Bubba" Johnson were not credible enough.

Regardless of where they come from, the DNR remains committed to getting rid of the pigs. Wildlife biologist Dave Matheys says increased hunter activity targeting the pigs and efforts to trap the animals are paying off.

Matheys says there's a good chance the animals will be eradicated within a year or two.
