City officials in Madison are calling for calm after the removal of an encampment sports protests and fires. SSM Health is again appealing a ruling that ratified a nurse’s union at St Mary’s in Madison. St. Louis based SSM asked the National Labor Relations Board to review claims it made regarding the June vote by nurses to form a union. SSM states that the NLRB dismissed its claims that 83 votes may have been cast improperly without conducting a proper investigation. Even if those votes are tossed out, it would not overturn the ratification. St. Mary’s nurses are seeking better hours, compensation, and more staff to provide patient care.
