A member of Wisconsin's Congressional delegation played big role in crafting a party platform for the Democratic National Committee.
Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) recently served on the small committee that drafts the DNC platform. Baldwin says her role came at the request of Senator Hillary Clinton, who she supported during the primary season. Baldwin says she was happy to accept the challenge.
The Madison Democrat says they looked at issues such as voter access, health care, and higher education. Baldwin says her expertise on LGBT issues also played a role, with the inclusion of statements against using those issues to divide Americans.
Baldwin says there was some disagreement on issues. However, the panel did reach a consensus, which will be sent on to the party as a whole. Delegates at the Democratic National Convention later this month will vote on adopting the platform.
