The head of the state Republican Party says the stage is set for a major battle this November.
Republicans want to take back control of Wisconsin, and state GOP chairman Reince Priebus expects a lot of national attention on races in the state. He says it’s going to be a battle royal for the future of the state, and a microcosm of the entire country.
In the race for governor, Republican nominee Scott Walker leaves a hotly contested primary with far less campaign cash than Democrat Tom Barrett. Priebus doesn’t expect that to be the case for very long though, with help from the Republican National Committee already coming in to help the state GOP.
With what could be close races for governor and the U.S. Senate, Priebus expects Wisconsin to be “ground zero” for national attention this fall.
