The state housing market continued to see strong numbers in October, according to new figures released by the Wisconsin Realtors Association. The WRA says home sales in the state were up 2.4 percent last month, compared to same time period in 2014. Home prices were also up 4.7 percent, to a statewide median of $155,000.

Dave Clark, an economist with the WRA, said it’s a market that shows “sellers can comfortably put their homes on the market and, if it is appropriately prices, those homes are moving relatively quickly.”

Home sales typically start to drop off in the fall months, but WRA board chairman K.C. Maurer noted that good weather in October helped to carry on strong momentum from the summer months.

So far in 2015, the WRA said there have been 66,347 home sales. It’s the strongest January-October period since 2005, when just over 68,000 homes were sold.
