Six injured in massive Monday morning semi on semi crash on I-41 (SLINGER)
A massive Monday morning crash on I-41 sends multiple people to the hospital. The Wisconsin State Patrol and Washington County deputies investigating the crash that happened around 7:00 a.m. on I-41 southbound near Highway 60. A semi-truck crashed into the back of another semi and several other vehicles that were slowed due to a previous accident in which a 57-year-old motorcyclist died. Six people were sent to the hospital, 4 adults with serious injuries and an infant that was flown to Children’s Hospital Milwaukee. The sixth person drove themself to the hospital. No victims have been identified.
Oracle drops legal challenge to new data center utility rates (UNDATED)
Tech company Oracle abruptly drops its legal challenge to data center utility rate changes. The company filed a complaint in June after the Wisconsin Public Service Commission approved a plan requiring data centers to post cash or property as assurance each month they are in service if their bond rating drops below an A minus. The company argued that could cost Oracle over 100 million dollars a year. But on Monday, Oracle dropped the complaint with little statement. S and P Global Ratings, a business credit agency, has rated Oracle at a B B B minus, its lowest rating for any company it recommends investment in.
Man’s body pulled from Lake Michigan in Milwaukee (MILWAUKEE)
A body was pulled from Lake Michigan on Saturday. Milwaukee County deputies responded to Bay View Park Saturday morning for a report of a man in the water 30 feet off the shore. Rescue teams got the man to shore, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. It’s unclear how long the man had been in the water, or how he died. An autopsy is scheduled while investigators try to identify the victim.
