Fox Cities Habitat to repair 100 Menasha homes (MENASHA)
More help is on the way for Menasha residents. Greater Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity wants to get 100 homes back in working order by the end of the year. The charity best known for building homes for needy families says it will use those skills to repair roofs, replace windows and doors and patch up walls. Habitat Fox Cities wants to get the project finished by the middle of December.
Tony Romo pleads no contest to OWI arrest (MILWAUKEE)
Tony Romo is not contesting his O W I arrest. Romo pleaded no contest in Milwaukee County court to the charges against him, including a citation for first time O W I. He was arrested in July after a traffic stop. Romo’s drivers license has been revoked for 6 months and he’ll have to pay a fine and undergo a drunk driving diversion program. Romo is off the air at C B S for now, former Badgers all star J J Watt has replaced him on the announcing desk for N F L games.
New charges against Fond du Lac man accused in Dane Co. stalking case (FOND DU LAC)
New charges in a disturbing case out of Fond du Lac County. A Fond du Lac man accused of stalking a Madison woman for 13 years and collecting human remains and items connected to serial killers and grave robbers is arrested on new charges. Police took Benjamin Larson into custody Monday on recommended counts of receiving stolen property and bail jumping. Larson was charged August 18th in Dane County Court with stalking. A search warrant executed on his home in Fond du Lac reportedly turned up six human skulls, partial skulls and other bones in a glass casket, items from the gravesite of Ed Gein, a portion of John Wayne Gacy’s brain and bottles labeled as poisons. Formal charges are pending.
Partial mistrial declared in Dane County murder case (MADISON)
A Dane County jury deadlocked on a charge of 1st degree intentional homicide in the death of a Sun Prairie woman. 25 year old Gerson Blas-Noe’ is accused of murdering 27 year old Ingrid Valverde Ponce in January of last year, and leaving her body in a cornfield. Prosecutors say the motive was he feared she was pregnant, which turned out not to be the case. Defense attorneys admit Noe’ lied to police but say there’s no proof he killed Ponce. Late Monday night, jurors did find Noe’ guilty of giving false information, but couldn’t reach consensus on the 2 other charges. In addition to murder, he was also charged with hiding a corpse. A judge declared a mistrial. A scheduling conference will be set within 30 days.
