After 34 years with the Milwaukee Admirals as a player, coach and executive, Phil Wittliff has announced his retirement. The move is effective immediately. Wittliff was a part of two championship teams in Milwaukee, as a player in 1976 and as the general manager in 2004. He began playing for the Admirals in 1972, playing 5 seasons, winning two USHL scoring titles and rookie-of-the-year honors. Wittliff coached the team for 10 seasons, compiling a 378-280-45 record. He led the Admirals to the playoffs every year he coached and advanced to the Turner Cup Finals in 1983.
