Manufacturing matters for Wisconsin, even in the down economy. That from Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership president Mike Klonsinski. “Companies that are skilled, and do take advantage of services outside of their boundaries, are ones that have a higher correlation to success,” says Klonsinski.

Still, Klonsisnki says WMEP’s most recent survey shows only one third of state manufacturers are turning to WMEP and other outside resources. He suggests that needs to change. “We’re pretty bullish on manufacturing being the way to lead us out of both the jobs recession and even our deficit issue,” says Klonsinski. “If we can make our Wisconsin manufacturing sector work, it’s going to be good for all of us.”

Klonsinski says attendees at WMEP’s annual Manufacturing Matters conference will be watching closely as the state’s large companies release quarterly earnings statements this week.
