Green Bay women’s basketball standout Julie Wojta (Francis Creek, WI) is one
of 15 women’s college basketball players invited to participate in the WNBA Draft Selection Show, held Monday, April 16 at ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.
Wojta is the most decorated player in the 39-year history of the Green Bay women’s basketball program. She earned Horizon League Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors in her senior season. Wojta was one of five finalists for the John R. Wooden Award an AP Second Team All-American, Naismith and Wade Trophy finalist.
Wojta is a projected top 10 pick and she stands to become the first Green Bay player to be drafted by a WNBA team.
ESPN analyst Rebecca Lobo said Wojta’s coming from a small school and a small conference shouldn’t hurt her in Monday’s draft.
