Opponents of a wolf hunt proposal were vocal last night in Madison. Patricia Randolph is a former Dane County Conservation Congress delegate opposed to a wolf hunt. "There's nothing scientific about it," said Randolph. "This is an agenda of a hunting lobby that controls wildlife in our state as a killing business." Randolph, who now lives in Marquette County and thus was not eligible to vote at the Madison hearing, decried the violence of hunting. A couple speakers supported the proposal, including one who suggested that wolves could help control the population of feral cats in Dane County. Any wolf hunt in Wisconsin could still be years away, if it happens at all: last night's question was advisory, and results from all 72 counties will go the Natural Resources Board for further consideration.
