A Milwaukee Brewers starter finally went 7-innings in a game.  Randy Wolf pitched 7-scoreless innings to lead the Brewers to a 6-1 win over the Houston Astros at Miller Park.  The win ended a 8-game home field losing streak for the Brewers.

Milwaukee had gone 20 straight games without a starting pitcher going 7-innings.  The last Brewers starter to pitch 7-innings was Yovani Gallardo on May 1 in a 2-1 win over the San Diego Padres.  Manager Ken Macha said that’s the first of a few things that ended up going quite well.

The Astros came to town with the league’s worst batting average of .227.

The Brewers got home runs from Ryan Braun and Rickie Weeks.

Chris Narveson pitches game 2 of the series tonight.  He’s 4-1.  Roy Oswalt goes for the Astros.  Oswalt is 2-6 with a 2.66 ERA for the Astros.
