A Dane County woman has entered a not guilty plea to charges that she emailed death threats to Republican state lawmakers. Katherine Windels of Cross Plains appeared in court Thursday, after investigators say she threatened lawmakers who voted in favor of the controversial budget repair bill and the changes it made to the collective bargaining rights of state employees.

She faces two felony counts of making bomb threats and two misdemeanor charges of making threats using a computer. Windels is accused of sending emails to lawmakers threatening to shoot Senators and plant bombs around their houses and the Capitol.

A signature bond was set for the 26-year-old. She also cannot use the internet for anything other than work or school and she is not allowed to visit the state Capitol building.

Windels is due back in court on May 16th.
