A Franklin woman is arrested by Racine Police, after being accused of giving birth in a restaurant bathroom, putting the baby girl in a trash bag, and tossing it into the dumpster.
The 23-year-old woman was arrested Friday in her home on charges of first degree reckless homicide and concealing the death of a child. Racine police seargent Marty says the woman went to a Racine hospital for medical treatment August 16th but was evasive when asked if she had just given birth.
Medical staff notified Racine police, who determined the woman had been pregnant and gave birth in the restroom of the restaurant where she worked. The infant’s body was found in the dumpster. The woman is being held in the Racine County jail awaiting formal charges. She also has a three-year-old child at home.
