The Green Bay Phoenix women forced 29 turnovers and held UW-Milwaukee to just 27% FG, and grabbed round one from the Panthers 47-36 in the Horizon League opener for both teams. 

Green Bay held Menasha native Traci Edwards, the Panthers leading scorer, to 14 points.  That's five points below her season average.  Green Bay (9-3, 1-0) won despite shooting just 37% from the floor and committing 26 turnovers of their own.  The Panthers fell to 5-7 on the season and 0-1 in league play.

Rachel Porath and Lavesa Glover scored 10 points each to lead Green Bay.

In Evanston, Illinois on Sunday, Wisconsin led by five midway through the second half, but hit just 4 field goals the rest of the way and fell to Northwestern 49-46.

The Badgers (12-3, 2-2 Big Ten ) were sloppy throughout the game, cimmitting 10 turnovers in the first half and 16 for the game, leading to 17 points for the Wildcats.  Alyssa Karel had 19 to lead the Badgers.
