A massive search for a camouflaged gunman who killed three people and wounded a fourth near Niagara in far northeast Wisconsin. Marinette County authorities said nine young people were gathered near the East Kingsford Train Bridge, when the gunman shot four of them. 19-year-old Bryan Mort, 18-year-old Anthony Spigarelli, and 17-year-old Tiffany Pohlson were killed. 20-year-old Daniel Gordon was wounded and was flown to a Green Bay hospital.
The shootings occurred about 5:30 yesterday afternoon, three miles west of Niagara. At last word, more than 100 state and local law enforcement officers were searching for a middle-aged, camouflaged gunman near the Menominee River that separates Marinette County and Upper Michigan.
Sheriff’s deputies evacuated an unknown number of homes in the area – and roadblocks were set up on Highway 141 and County Trunk “N” in Niagara. Officials said the gunman had an assault rifle.
